Worship Resources
Across the presbytery there are many congregations who rely on recognised Lay Preachers and members of their congregations to take regular services.
The Worship Resources page has full orders of services written by Uniting Church ministers, there are prayers, liturgies based on the lectionary readings and for special occasions. There are some excellent resources for use at times of natural disaster – bushfire, drought and flood.
The worship resources page is intended to provide inspiration and good worship resources to enable everyone who lead services to better undertake this ministry. Ordained ministers will also find the resources and links valuable for their preparation.
Tips for Using Zoom for Online Worship and Meetings
Paid or Free Version
You will probably need to use the paid version of Zoom for conducting worship services and meetings as the free version only allows a 40 minute session, limits the number of attendees and does not have the full range of features available in the paid version.
The Presbytery has a number of licences for Zoom which can be booked for use by congregations.
If you want to purchase a licence for your congregation, Synod has negotiated a special rate with Zoom which is much cheaper than purchasing directly.
Setting personal preferences in the paid version
There are a number of features available in Zoom which are not activated by default, including Break-out Rooms and livestreaming to Facebook or YouTube. You will need to go into the “back end” of Zoom to turn these features on.
There are also a number of settings for which you may want to set your own preference. These are also accessed by logging into the back end of Zoom.
Brian Spencer, Education, Resources and Innovation Support Minister with the Presbytery has produced a short video explaining how to access these preferences. You can watch the video here.
A Checklist for Running a Live Zoom Worship Service
Running a live Zoom worship service can be duanting at first. Be prepared for there to be mistakes, but don’t let it hold you back.
Brian Spencer has developed a checklist which you may find helpful. You can download it as a MS Word file here. https://www.dropbox.com/s/n9rlfmog6bir73f/Zoom%20Set-up%20Checklist.docx?dl=1

Many Congregations are in the habit of deliberately praying for one another each time they meet. By naming each other in prayer we enhance our pastoral support with each other, in God’s company. This invitation builds our faith linkages every year.
